With over 70 performances and the release of his second single to Canadian country radio, 2018 has been a busy year for Justin Hogg. The Alberta native from the small town of Morinville had success with his debut single, “Smoke Signals,” which debuted at #61 on the iTunes Top Country charts and has been added to country radio stations nationwide. For his second single, “Kiss You Instead,” Justin again partnered with Johnny Gasparic at MCC Studios and released the new track in April of 2018.
Having journeyed through musical styles over the years from rock to acoustic indie, Justin has truly found his roots in the country music scene. Drawing on influences like Keith Urban and Hunter Hayes, his style is a blend of country, rock, and pop music with his own twist of originality. His style and talent for co-writing earned him a nod from the Alberta Country Music Awards, which nominated “Smoke Signals” for song of the year in 2017, a track co- written with fellow Alberta native, Lynn Tessari. Justin is currently up for Male Artist Of The Year at the 2018 Alberta Country Music Awards.
Justin’s adaptable style translates well across multiple venue styles, from small intimate stages to larger festival stages, and his boyish charm and good nature allows him to connect effortlessly with his audience. In the fall of 2018, Hogg was selected to play two Canadian Country Music Awards showcases, where he connected with country music fans and industry professionals alike.
Having been offered opening slots for Brett Kissel, High Valley, George Canyon, Adam Gregory and Charlie Major among others, Justin takes every opportunity to learn from the experience of artists that have paved the way for others in Canadian Country Music. It’s full steam ahead for Justin Hogg!
